Symbiobe’s photosynthetic organism cultivation plants convert greenhouse gases into usable resources. By providing a conversion platform based on the use of photosynthetic organisms that thrive on carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and sunlight, Symbiobe aims to make a significant contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
Air Fertilizer® is a completely new, nitrogen-rich (amino acids, peptides, and so on) organic fertilizer for use in agriculture. Air Fertilizer® seeks to address issues present in current fertilizer options. For example, chemical fertilizers are fast acting but require high amounts of energy to produce and can damage soil quality with continued use. On the other hand, while organic fertilizers are much more environmentally friendly, identifying suitable conditions for their use and their effect on crops can be difficult. Symbiobe’s Air Fertilizer® has the potential to compensate for the drawbacks of these existing products.
Air Feed® is a new zero-carbon aquaculture feed that serves as an alternative to fishmeal and vegetable protein commonly used in fish feed. High in crude protein, Air Feed® offers the perfect balance of amino acids necessary for fish growth.
Air Silk® is an innovative, air-derived synthetic silk fiber based on proteins produced by photosynthetic organisms. The production of Air Silk® emits less carbon dioxide than that of other fibers, and the fibers are biodegradable in both soil and marine environments.
With a company culture rooted in the academic milieu of Kyoto University, the vision we have had since Symbiobe’s inception—of building symbiosis between people and the planet—and the real-world implementation necessary to realize this vision inform every aspect of our research and other activities.
